The Spring Voice Day is the first scientific and clinical event organized by the Speech Therapy Voice Community of Practice in Quebec, the CdP-V. It will be held in French.
It is primarily aimed at speech therapists interested in voice, as well as speech therapy students.
Free and open to all, the Spring Voice Day offers hybrid mode conferences in the morning and practical workshops for participants in person in the afternoon.

Creation of a community for vocal health…
The CdP-V was founded in 2019, under the impetus of Speech Language Pathologist Lyne Defoy, and researchers Ingrid Verduyckt and Vincent Martel-Sauvageau. To address the theoretical shortcomings on voice disorders in the initial University training of speech therapists, this trio, supported by SLP Imane Hocine, set up a participatory research project that was fortunate enough to be funded by the OOAQ-REPAR scholarship.
The objective of this project was to evaluate the feasibility of implementing and the impacts of a virtual community of practice in voice therapy — and, above all — to invigorate the field of voice therapy in Quebec and stimulate exchanges between research and clinical practice. The final and challenging objective was to consolidate the community enough during the research project so that it would continue to grow by itself.

Mission accomplished!
Five years later, the CdP-V has more than 100 members who contribute to the development of a knowledge repository developed through working subgroups, internal conferences, and research projects. These members include SLPs, SLP students, and researchers in Speech Language Therapy. In addition to providing essential theoretical foundations for voice practice to its members, the CdP-V also enables them to develop a sense of professional confidence and belonging as well as a strong enthusiasm to continue investing in the community to bring about changes in practices.
