As part of the third consecutive artistic-research project “Brecht’s songs in the musical education of actors”, the Academy of Performing Arts of the University of Sarajevo will be visited by the renowned professor of singing Francesco Mecorio and will hold a specialized vocal masterclass for actors/singers, which will be held at the Obala Open Stage starting at 12 pm on 31st May. Francesco Mecorio is a vocal coach of the American cast of the musical “Dreamgirls” and his clients include Brie Jackson, Tyler Hardwick, Nik Alexander and Candice Marie Woods, who starred in the musicals “Dreamgirls”, “Hairspray” and “The Book of Mormon”. He is the founder of “Francesco Mecorio Voice Studio”, which operates in Italy andHong Kong and is a certified Estill Voice Model Course Instructor. His research studies have been presented at national and international conferences in Korea, Italy and Poland, and he is a member of the editorial board of the ePhonoscope magazine and a reviewer of the “Journal of Hearing Science”.
