World Voice Day 2025: Voice Care for Teachers
Organized by the Department of Otolaryngology, Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences, Kanyakumari

In celebration of World Voice Day 2025, the Department of Otolaryngology at Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS), Kanyakumari, conducted a special awareness program titled “Voice Care for Teachers” on April 11, 2025. The event was held for the teaching faculty of Thrayambika Vidya Mandir, a private school located in Kulasekharam, in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu.
The interactive session focused on educating teachers about the basics of phonation, the importance of vocal hygiene, and practical voice care tips tailored specifically for professionals who rely heavily on their voice.
To better understand the common voice-related issues faced by educators, a questionnaire was distributed among the attendees. The collected responses were analyzed and discussed during the session, allowing participants to clear their doubts and receive expert guidance.
The program was met with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback. The teachers appreciated the opportunity to learn about early warning signs of vocal strain and when to seek help from an otolaryngologist. The session empowered them with essential knowledge to preserve their vocal health and continue their teaching careers with confidence.
