More info: On April 16, 17 and 18, 2015, the National Voice Campaign, conducted by the Brazilian Academy of Laryngology and Voice (ABLV) and the Brazilian Association of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABORL-CCF), celebrates its 17th edition, and promotes activities at Parque do Povo, in São Paulo, for the second consecutive year. There, people can visit an inflatable superstructure in shape of a giant mouth, the event’s main attraction, which shows the main elements of the mouth and larynx, like teeth, tongue, tonsils, uvula and vocal cords. The inflatable structure also brings in its interior curiosities in different media like videos, texts and games that make awareness and learning more fun.

This year, the event also includes the participation of Doctors of Joy and its founder Wellington Nogueira, sponsor of this year’s campaign. The NGO is inspired by the work of the Clown Care Unit, created by Michael Christensen, director of the Big Apple Circus in New York, who has been promoting for the last 23 years continuous visits of professional clowns to the hospitalized children, their parents and health professionals.

Celebrated since 2003 and internationally recognized, the Voice Campaign is the most traditional action of Otorhinolaryngology in Brazil. Three days of awareness-raising activities that seek to strengthen the importance of doctors in this field, drawing the media and the public’s attention.
