World Voice Day celebrates the voice as a vital human instrument, and the 2026 international theme, “Caring for Our Voices,” highlights the importance of vocal health and emotional well-being. The University of Miami’s event, “When Feelings Become Sound,” will explore the relationship between emotion and voice through short graduate student presentations paired with live undergraduate performances across multiple musical genres, alongside faculty-led case studies from the Frost and Miller Schools. The program also features collaborative learning, laryngoscopy visuals, and community-building activities—including a friendly game of Phonatory Feud—to bring science, artistry, and care together.
