A Lecture on the singing voice at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Medical School Amphitheatre. The lecture is dedicated to World Voice Day 2024 and is an open lecture to the public. Invitations are extended to students of the Music Studies Department and Theatre Department. The lecture is presented as part of the "Medicine in Performing Arts" course at the medical school, taught by Thanos Bibas, ENT Professor, CertMath MSc (Audiol) PhD FRCSI (Otol). The lecture is given in two parts:

A) The Head of the Music Studies Department at NKUA, Professor Anastasia Georgaki, discusses the scientific facets of the singing voice, including acoustics and physiology.

B) The singer, voice teacher, and researcher Evangelos Angelakis (Doctoral candidate at NKUA) presents "The singing voice from the artist's perspective in classical singing: Vocal strain, common technical issues, and practical solutions."

The lectures are followed by an open discussion on related voice matters, providing an opportunity for attendees to engage further with the topics presented.
