World Voice Day at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center

On Friday, April 14, the UH Ear, Nose & Throat Institute will present an event celebrating World Voice Day, streamed over Zoom for UH caregivers and patients from the UH Cleveland Medical Center atrium from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The goal is to celebrate the many ways we use our voices and raise awareness about prevention and treatment of voice disorders.

The event will be educational, but will also feature several musical performances to highlight the beauty and healing power of the human voice. In addition, the event will feature a testimonial from a patient who will describe life with a tracheoesophageal voice prosthesis (TEP) performed here at UH. This is a device that is placed in the wall that separates the trachea and esophagus to enable a total laryngectomy patient to make a more natural sounding voice.
